Bonjour,
Un Éclat d’Âme (A Silver of a Soul) invites us into an intimate theater of the gaze. Each painting isolates a fragment of the human face (eyes lifted, lowered, or turned) framed within the crescent moon, Pierrot’s eternal emblem. Tears, too, appear throughout the series - another hallmark of Pierrot - transformed here into luminous constellations. We are never shown the whole portrait, only a glimpse, as if the soul reveals itself in fragile pieces.
The deep blue ground recalls the night sky, while shimmering metal leaf turns sorrow into radiance. Grief becomes gold, silence becomes presence, and vulnerability becomes strength. Echoing the language of sacred icons yet rooted in profoundly human emotion, the works speak of loss, doubt, longing, and hope.
