About this painting:
There is always a space between what we show and what we carry. In this work, I explore the delicate boundary between appearance and inner life. A fragment of the face emerges through a mask, revealing a gaze suspended between restraint and exposure.
The red ground suggests interiority and intensity, while gold transforms sorrow into something sacred. Tears shimmer alongside ornamental drips, blurring the line between authentic emotion and theatrical gesture.
Behind the mask, silence speaks. The work reflects on identity as performance and the tension between composure and vulnerability.
